TEACHING AND LEARNING COORDINATOR

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

We have had a great start to Term 2 and students are already in their set routines after the school break. Students have shown a huge improvement in their physical, social, emotional and academic aspects during these terms.

I would like to thank all of you, for providing support and assistance in educating children as it is not possible without your help. I would like your cooperation to solve a few common issues which are mentioned below.

HOMEWORK

Homework is very important because it reinforces concepts which are learnt at school. Please encourage students to complete their weekly homework and have a set study time at home. In addition to the written tasks, online homework is assigned using Reading Eggs and Mathletics every week. Please make sure that students complete all components of the weekly homework.

EXCURSIONS/INCURSIONS

All excursions and incursions are an important part of the school curriculum and they play a very significant role in their learning. Please promote these activities to give wider learning experiences to our students. As we are moving away from paper forms, please do not forget to give online consents whenever you receive a permission form on your phone. If you are not getting notes/broadcasts, please speak to the receptionist and update your phone number.

NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program- Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) for Grade 3 and 5 students are scheduled for Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th May 2018. Please ensure that students do not miss school on these dates. If they are absent on test days, we will have a catch-up test on Friday 18th of May.
